Bob Lobel spent three decades anchoring sports at WBZ-TV (Ch. 4) but confessed radio is “much more fun” than TV. Lobel and Bob Lipman talk sports (and more) each weekday from the Scott Lawson Group Studios from 1-2pm.  Call in and talk about your favorite teams, play trivia (challenge J-Dawg), and much more.

“I love radio. It’s much more fun than television. You have much more time to talk about your opinions and editorialize,” Lobel said. “I had a lot of fun when I was on television but it’s not the same thing.”

 On the air, Lobel was known for using props and catchphrases during his sportscasts:

• "Why can't we get players like that?" - when any former player for a Boston team is shown making a big play for his new team. This is emphasized in instances when the former Boston player burns a Boston team.
   
• the "Panic Button" when a local team is on a losing streak
   
• a support beam from the Boston Garden occasionally used for Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics highlights.

Lobel is also known for his local charity work for Children's Hospital and
The Genesis Fund among many others.

Bob Lipman, who serves as the PULSE's Operations Manager, is also a  play-by-play voice for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays AA) and University of New Hampshire Football
